The Access Point can operate on a 160MHz channel width, but if it detects radar signals, it must switch to an 80MHz channel. This switch happens because the AP needs to comply with regulatory requirements to avoid interfering with radar systems.

If you encounter 5G radio channel width switch from 160MHz to 80MHz, go to event logs to check whether AP detects radar signal or not by searching the logs with keyword: Dynamic Frequency Selection, DFS, Radar signals.
