USG20W-VPN - Flex 50W Firmware update problem
Hallo,
I have a USG20W-VPM (Now Flex 50W) that have running firmware 5.30 (ABAR.0) e Standby firmware V4.62(ABAR.0). Firmware autoupdate is enable end see new version 5.39(ABAR.0) but cannot update in auto. Try tu update via local or cloud the running firmware or standby firmware but nothing.
the message on the screen that warns you to wait appears and the seconds pass. I waited more than 20 minutes but then refreshing the page everything remains as before.
I found several damaged configuration files with anomalous characters in the name and a few kb in size, I renamed them, downloaded them but they did not contain anything readable and I deleted them.
Now only lastgood.conf, startup-config.conf and system-default.com remain.
Furthermore, the automatic update is scheduled on Sunday and some Mondays I find myself having to restart the Firewall because the login screen opens but does not allow access with user and password by timing out while if I make a mistake in the user/password it correctly gives me access denied.
In this situation, not even DHCP or VPN access works, you can only access to internert.
I was thinking of trying to change the firmware to 4.62 at startup and try to update the 5.30 with that, am I risking something?
I mean the configuration is updated for version 5.30 and I don't know if it will still work with 4.62 or if there will be problems.
Otherwise are there other ways to update the firmware that I think is corrupted?

Hi @LoneWolf74
Please try following the steps outlined in this guide to help recover your device:
After recovery, we recommend creating a backup of your current configuration to prevent data loss in case of further issues. When attempting to upgrade, we suggest starting with ZLD5.38C0 on the Standby partition. Once that is successful, try updating to ZLD5.39 to ensure a smooth process.
If you still experience issues after following these steps, please enable HTTPS WAN access for us so we can remotely check your device for further investigation. You can then share the login credentials with us via a private message.
