The latest uOS firmware version introduces a Scheduled Reboot feature, allowing users to automate reboot schedules for devices. This feature offers flexible scheduling options to reboot devices daily, weekly, or monthly, providing more control over device uptime and maintenance.

Key Features:

  1. Flexible Scheduling Options:
    • Users can schedule reboots daily, weekly, or monthly.
    • This automation can help maintain optimal performance by periodically refreshing device operations.
  2. Reboot Status Display:
    • Once a scheduled reboot is executed, a message displaying the reason for the reboot is visible in the web GUI upon logging in.
  3. Configuration Conflict Alerts:
    • If an Auto-Update for firmware and a Scheduled Reboot are both enabled, a warning message will appear. This message helps prevent scheduling conflicts, as only one of these features can be active at a time to avoid overlapping processes.
    • Users must choose between auto-updates and scheduled reboots to ensure smooth operation.

Special Scenarios:

  • End-of-Month Scheduling: For users setting the scheduled reboot on the 30th or 31st day of the month, the system adjusts intelligently:
    • If the month ends before the 30th (e.g., February), the device will reboot on the last day of that month.
    • This ensures that the schedule remains consistent and that the device reboots on the closest available date each month.

Benefits:

  • Automated Maintenance: Scheduled reboots help optimize device performance without manual intervention.

With this scheduled reboot feature, uOS now provides a hands-off approach to regular device maintenance, making it easier to ensure consistent performance and manage scheduling conflicts.
