Why can't my switches connect using a DAC cable?

Zyxel XGS/XMG/XS series switches support SFP+ and DAC-10G on fiber ports. To maintain network stability, the port's media type must match the cable in use.

If the media type and cable are mismatched, the ports may fail to link, repeatedly link up and down, or experience high CRC error counts.

This guide explains how to adjust the port's media type, based on firmware version v4.80:

Configuration Path:
Navigate to Port > Port Setup, locate the connecting port, and change its Media Type to match the cable.

Default Setting:
The default media type is set to SFP+.
