NWA55AXE and NWA90AX Smart Mesh
New to this so forgive me…
I have a NWA55AXE hard wired outside my building that I would like to continue using for outside Wi-Fi service, but also serve as the bridge to the additional access points (NWA90AX's)… I am looking to extend the Wi-Fi to 2 other buildings each within 100 meters to extend the Wi-Fi strength to several rooms of these buildings (I already own the NWA90AX access points and wish to use them)… The NWA55AXE is just too weak to handle this on its own… I was thinking maybe setting up a smart mesh network should work for accomplishing this…
a) Can this mesh work while still allowing the NWA55AXE to continue to provide Wi-Fi for clients?
b) How do I set this up properly?
Thank you in advance…

Hi @Royal_T1

Yes, it’s possible! The NWA55AXE can serve as the root access point for the Smart Mesh network while continuing to provide Wi-Fi service to clients.
b) How do I set this up properly?
To configure the smart mesh, you can refer to this post:
Here are some additional tips for optimal mesh performance:
- Ensure the repeater uplink signal strength is within -65 dBm or better for a stable connection.
- Keep in mind that the maximum recommended number of wireless hops is two, as each hop reduces throughput by half.
