How to add a LAN device to a NWA50AX mesh WiFi
Dear Zyxel team, I have a mesh of 4 NWA50AX, one of which uses its uplink port to connect to the internet modem. All NWA50AX units provide WiFi to connecting stations.
I need to connect one station that is not WiFi enabled via LAN.
The NWA50AX units' ETH port is labeled "UPLINK". Is it possible to configure this port to be used as a standard LAN port? If not, what else would you propose as a quick solution?
Thank you!

Hi @d_p
The "Uplink" port on the NWA50AX is specifically designed for uplink and PoE connections, so it cannot be reconfigured as a standard LAN port. However, here are a few alternative solutions to connect your non-WiFi-enabled device via LAN:
- Connect a switch to your internet modem (gateway):
- Plug a network switch into one of the LAN ports of your gateway.
- Connect your non-WiFi-enabled device to the switch. This approach allows multiple wired devices to be connected to your network.
- Directly connect your device to the gateway’s LAN port (if available):
- If your gateway has spare LAN ports, this is a straightforward option.
- Use a Wi-Fi adapter for your device:
- If the previous solutions are not feasible, consider using a USB or Ethernet Wi-Fi adapter for your device. This will enable it to connect wirelessly to the NWA50AX mesh network.
