GS1200-8 unexpected behavior when configured
Hello,
I am experiencing an unexpected behavior with several GS1200-8 units I recently acquired. When there is no configuration on the switch, traffic is forwarded as expected and the switch status light is fixed green.
However, when I try to cofigure VLANs, the switch behaves eratically. I will configure an uplink to a firewall as a trunk port with all the user VLANs tagged and VLAN 1 as untagged and PVID (VLAN 1 is unused in the setup, not configured with an IP in the firewall either). Then I will configure the other access ports with the corresponding VLAN X as untagged and PVID. I believe this setup is correct based on the documentation.
This configuration will work perfectly once it has been done. However, when I reboot the switch for whatever reason, the ports will NOT go up. Furthermore, the status light will be blinking green, as if the boot process could not be completed. At first, I believed this may have been due to a L2 loop loading the CPU but with the setup at hand it is not possible. In fact, I tried disabling loop prevention and the situation persists.
The strangest thing is that disconnecting all cables, rebooting the switch and reconnecting the cables once booted with all this configuration will work perfectly. Traffic will be forwarded as expected, the MGMT site will be reachable, and throughput will be normal.
The device is running the latest firmware release V2.00(ABME.3)C0.
Is there anyone who has observed a similar behaviour? I am at a complete loss with this problem since I cannot find a reasonable explanation.
Thanks,

Hi @gvives
Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed information about the issue.
We attempted to reproduce this issue in our test environment but, unfortunately, we were unable to observe the same behaviour.
To assist you better, we would appreciate it if you could share more details:
- Could you provide the vendor and model of the firewall you are using?
- Regarding the status light you mentioned, is it the PWR/SYS LED?
- Which power adaptor did you use?
- When the ports do not come up, do the corresponding port LEDs remain off as well?
- How many GS1200-8 switches are in your network environment? Is this issue occurring on all of them or just one specific unit?
- If possible, could you share the configuration file of the GS1200-8 via private message for us to review? You can export it from the Management tab in the web interface.

Sure, here I am providing the details:
- GS1200-8 with firmware version V2.00(ABME.3)C0
- Exactly, the blinking when rebooting after setting the switch configuration refers to the PWR/SYS LED.
- The power adapters being used are the ones provided by Zyxel.
- After having set the configuration and rebooting the switch, the LED lights of the ports do not come up. At this point, the PWR/SYS LED is blinking rapidly.
- There are two switches in the network. Switch 2 connects to Switch 1 which in turn connects to the Firewall. The issue occurs with both switches. The Firewall being used is Opnsense, the VLANs configured in the switches are passed to the Firewall via a trunk port.
- I am sending you the configuration via a private message.
Thanks
