SFP MSA Compatibility on XGS1930-28HPV2

I am trying to use some L-Com active optical cables (specifically AOCSP2825-007) with the Zyxel XGS1930-28HPV2 switch. The user's guide says in section 3.1.3 to use SFP MSA compliant transceivers, which this cable says it has. I am on the latest firmware (4.70(ABHV.9)C0 from 11/21/2024.

Should I expect this cable to work? Are there any troubleshooting steps recommended on the switch? I have confirmed that the cable is able to link other SFP+ devices, just not this switch.

    Hi @tripleuser,

We only tested Zyxel SFP modules, so we are unsure the compatibility of this module. We recommended using exclusively ZYXEL brand SFP modules to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

In addition, I also checked this product number. This module seems like a DAC module. You must change the media type to DAC-10G on the port setting page for XGS1930 when using a DAC module.

The cable looks like a DAC, but it's actually an optical cable. Since it doesn't work and other SFP modules do, I think it's probably a compatibility issue. Could you please remove the portion of the user guide that claims MSA compliant transceiver compatibility?

    Hi @tripleuser,

Sorry for my miss. But I also noticed that this SFP module is a 25G SFP.

However, XGS1930 only supports 1/10G for the SFP port. If this SFP module doesn't support 10G, then the link is expected to be down.
