What is wrong? I have more then 500Mbits coming in the switch (GS1100-16), out only about 97.

    Hi @Klausur,

    How did you test to get this result? Could you share it with us?

    Also, two reasons could cause lower speed:

    1. One of the link's link speeds is only 100 Mbps. Please check the switch port LED to see if there is a port's LED that is not green. If yes, please change the cable and check the connected device's available link speed.
    2. EEE/Green Ethernet. We have some experience that enables EEE/Green Ethernet could cause the transmit speed to get lower than expected. Since GS1100-16 enables EEE/Green Ethernet by default, please disable it on your PC.

    Please excuse my English is not that good.
    I have an internet wall socket, from there I get more than 500 Mbits. I connected my iMAC (3GHZ 6 Core) from there with a CAT7 cable and did a speed test. The PC is not permanently connected to this switch, I only connected it there for speed testing! That gave this value. If I go to a port on the switch with the same cable (GS1100-16), I get just under 100 Mbit. On the switch itself, LEDs light up green and some red. So sometimes I get Gbits, sometimes less, but that depends on the connected device. There is also a Fritz Repeater 1200 AX (WLAN 6) connected to this switch, a speed test from the repeater to my cell phone showed 320 Mbit. So more than 100 Mbits are coming to the switch. The wall socket has more than 500 Mbits going to the switch. However, the LED is orange when I connect the iMAC. I don't understand what the problem is.

    You have two cables one from the wall to switch and one from switch to device one might be bad?

    Hi @Klausur,

    The wall socket has more than 500 Mbits going to the switch. However, the LED is orange when I connect the iMAC. I don't understand what the problem is.

    I think this is your issue scenario, let me help to write a topology here so we can better verify.

    Topology:

    Uplink ==== Wall socket ===== (assume port 1)GS1100-16(assume port 5) ——— iMAC.

    So, currently, the link LED of port 5 is orange. Is that correct? If so, the link speed between GS1100-16 and iMAC is 10 or 100 Mbps. Since you mentioned that the iMAC connects to the Wall socket and can reach 500Mbits, it is more likely the cable between the GS1100-16 and the iMAC is not CAT-5 or above. Please change your cable first. If the issue is still, please change the connecting port to check.
