XGS1210-12 hangs under heavy load when using VLANs

I have a rather basic configuration: an uplink @2.5Gbps (tried 10Gbps as well; same failure) set to VLAN=10, and some local devices. One of local devices is a server, and every morning at 0545 it backs up its ~1/4 TiB drive via the uplink (VLNAN=10). This results in theswitch hanging - web ui works, I can tell it to reboot, which fixes the problem.

If I turn the uplink to non-VLAN, the problem disappears, but the reason I purchased this switch is to use VLANs.

Firmware V2.00(ABTY.1)C0

    Hi @bogorad ,

To better check this issue, could you share more details so I can reproduce this issue in my lab?

    1. Can I said that you have a daily backup task that the backup server/NAS?
    2. What's your detailed topology? Which VLAN is your server belong to?
    3. Since your XGS1210-12 is still accessible, is the other traffic can be forwarded? Like can you ping device in the same VLAN/subnet?

    Thanks.

    1. yes
    2. main area: Mikrotik "326-24G-2S+in"
      1. Synology NAS DS-920+ connected via two bonded 1GiBps ports
      2. connected to area#2 via cat-7, cable via SPF+ socket - shows 10G connection, VLAN=10
    3. area#2: Zyxel XGS1210-12, connected via SPF+ to the main area, other connections local, 1 or 2.5G
    4. server that is being backed up is connected via a single RJ45, 2.5G port.
    5. backup via SMB

    Hi @bogorad,

Thanks for the information. I want to clarify more details with you:

    1. Does the switch hang mean the file can't be copied to your NAS? P.S. In my experience, the switch hang will prevent you from accessing the management web GUI, but you can access it in your case.
    2. Can you ping other devices when this issue happens? For example, ping the router and other devices (VLAN 1 and VLAN 10).
    3. I did a local test with a simple configuration, and there's no problem. Are there any other configurations besides VLAN?
