Overview

With a mission to drive innovation and shape the future of sports, media, and entertainment, Kosmos Global Holding opened a new office in Barcelona and needed to upgrade their technology and network infrastructure for upcoming projects. To achieve this, they partnered with TIC-Systems, a Zyxel Networks Gold partner, to revamp their network with a focus on security by installing robust firewalls and optimizing network performance to ensure smooth operations for employees. Zyxel Networks' Nebula Cloud Networking solution centralizes management, delivering secure, seamless connectivity and boosting productivity while safeguarding the company's network. Now, the company has peace of mind to support their future growth and new initiatives.

Challenges

Kosmos experienced significant growth and expanded from around 50 employees to over 150, driven by the global expansion of their flagship project, the Kings League. This growth required a move to larger, more advanced offices. Following a thorough assessment, the company realized that their existing network system, which became outdated and too small to support future development, needed a complete overhaul. The current setup involved equipment from various brands, with some devices being unmanageable, causing issues with coverage, roaming, and a lack of reporting. Additionally, cybersecurity was a major concern, as the previous system offered only basic protection that was difficult to configure and maintain, putting the safety and efficiency of the employees at risk.

Solutions

TIC-Systems and Kosmos selected Zyxel Networks' Nebula solutions, which fully met their requirements. The complete setup included the USG FLEX 700H firewall, XS3800-28 and XMG1930-30HP switches, and WAX640S-6E WiFi 6E access points. With the Nebula Cloud Networking solution, network configuration and management became straightforward, a key factor in the project's success.

Zyxel Networks' WiFi 6E access points feature interference-free 6GHz, more than doubling WiFi capacity to deliver ultra-fast speeds and low-latency connections. Additionally, the built-in smart antenna technology ensures optimal performance for every connection, while the roaming function automatically reconnects devices to nearby WiFi networks, ensuring smooth connectivity throughout the office.

The USG FLEX 700H firewall leverages Al-powered cloud intelligence to provide multi-layered protection, including sandboxing, anti-malware, application patrol, and content filtering. It safeguarded the infrastructure and connected users in ever-changing work environments.

The company upgraded all office cabling to CAT6A to support the large team of designers and video editors, who rely on 10Gbps speeds for live editing with NAS servers. XS3800-28 switches were used to connect NAS servers, workstations, and other high-speed devices. XMG1930-30HP switches handled VLAN segmentation and powered access points, ensuring efficient bandwidth management and reliable connectivity.

Results

With the Nebula cloud platform, Kosmos benefits from centralized device management, strengthening security and maximizing the network's potential. The company now enjoys improved scalability, seamless connectivity, and efficient management, allowing active connections with minimal downtime and latency.

Today, connectivity, storage, analysis, and recovery management have become straightforward, with easy access from any location. The integrated systems enhance management, agility, and secure device access, supporting Kosmos's growth and new ventures in the sports arena.
