Lock out of Management VLAN - what am I doing wrong?

I know I'm making a mistake, I asked ChatGPT, I looked on Google, I can't pinpoint the issue.

I'm trying to change the management VLAN.

I connect via cable with my Laptop to 192.18.1.3. All perfect.

I create VLAN 381.
I go to web interface, I assign port #07 as "Untag Egress Member". Moreover, I assign port #06 as "Tag Egress Member" (See pic1).

I go to "Management" and I change the Management VID to 381 (See pic2).

Then I get this warning

I click OK.
I connect my laptop to port #07 - nothing. I connect to port #06 - nothing.
There are no other devices in the network, just my laptop and the switch.

I change nothing else.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

    Hi @zyxel1,

    You need to notice:

    1. PC can't understand the VLAN tag, so you should connect it to port 6(untagged port).
    2. You must change port 6 PVID so your PC will truly belong to VLAN 381.
    3. Since you only connect your PC to the switch, you need to ensure your PC has an IP address and is 192.168.1.X/24. Then, you can access the switch (192.168.1.3).

You have to do it in order

    so default
    PVID 1 on all ports
    VLAN 1 all ports untag

You connect to port 6 to get to the UI
    You add VLAN 381 non-member 1-6, 8-12 untag 7 with port 7 PVID 7
    On VLAN1 change port 7 non-member
Change management VLAN to 381 you will then need to change over to port 7
