Px5301-t0 won't stay in bridge-mode through reboots

Hi There,

I have a Px5301-t0 from an ISP in Spain. I have put it in bridge-mode and have my firewall connect through PPPoE. Works great. For some reason, after a reboot, it goes back to "routing" instead of "bridge-mode". I suspect it is some boot up config fetch from the ISP or similar, but not sure. I have also tried to disable all remote services on the WAN side but still no luck. Oh, and the ISP support folks ask questions like "what is bridge mode" so no real use there.

Just to prevent a lengthy discussion on why I need my modem in bridge mode (which I have seen in some other posts), I have a real firewall handling NAT, port forwarding, WireGuard/OpenVPN, and other services. I don't need the double-NAT headache.

Any thought?

The ISP can configure the device via TR-069 i think you cannot block this .

You can ask your ISP which ONT Modem is allowed to replace the Router , may you can buy it or your ISP

sends you one . This device has to be registered by your ISP afterwards to be adressed .

Thanks Peter! I did try to engage with the ISP but it is a bit difficult when I have to start explaining what bridge mode is. I agree with you that it appears to be something on their side. I will ask for a regular ONT and see if they can offer me one
