No, Zyxel Access Points (APs) cannot function as routers.
Zyxel APs alone cannot act as routers. You’ll need a separate router or firewall for internet access and IP routing. They are best used to extend the wireless network, not to replace a router.
Supported Modes on Zyxel APs
Mode | Description |

AP Mode | Default mode — broadcasts SSIDs, connects users to upstream LAN |
Repeater/Bridge | Wireless extension of the network; no routing involved |
Mesh Mode | Wirelessly links multiple APs for backhaul |
