1. What is Pay As You Go (PAYG)?

PAYG is a flexible, usage-based billing model where you're charged monthly based on the actual license usage within selected Organizations (Orgs) from the previous month. There’s no need to pre-purchase fixed-term subscriptions—just pay for what you use.

2. Are there any setup fees or minimum usage requirements?

No. There are no setup fees or minimum usage requirements. If there’s no usage, there’s no charge.

3. How do I start using PAYG?

First, apply to become a Circle Partner [Here]. Then, simply accept the Terms & Conditions and add your payment method. Once activated, usage tracking begins immediately.

4. Can I choose which Organizations use PAYG?

Yes. You have the flexibility to enable PAYG for selected Orgs, while other remain on existing subscriptions. You can add or remove Orgs from PAYG anytime, with changes taking effect immediately.

5. What happens when an Org is switched to PAYG?

The Org is upgraded to PRO Org status immediately, and all devices under it are automatically covered by the selected PAYG plan.

6. What if I remove an Org from PAYG?

If you remove an Org from PAYG, it will automatically be downgraded to a BASE Org. Please note that certain PRO Org features or settings may no longer be available, so we recommend reviewing your Org configuration before making this change.

7. What PAYG license plans are available?

You can choose from two plans:

  • Plan 1: Nebula Professional Pack + Gold Security Pack – Most firewalls are billed for the Gold Security Pack, which includes Nebula Pro. Non-firewall devices or certain exceptions are billed for the Nebula Professional Pack only.
  • Plan 2: Nebula Professional Pack Only – All device types are billed for the Nebula Pro Pack only.

8. How is usage calculated?

Daily per-device usage is tracked. Monthly billing is calculated as: (Total device usage days) ÷ 31, rounded up to the nearest whole number.

9. How do I view my usage?

The Circle portal provides monthly PAYG usage reports, listing devices, usage days, and license types.

10. What if a device already has an active license?

PAYG charges for the same service (Nebula Pro or Gold Pack) start only after the current license expires.

11. How are UTM Security licenses handled under Plan 1 (Nebula Professional Pack + Gold Security Pack)?

While an active UTM license is in place, PAYG only bills for Nebula Pro. Once the UTM license expires, billing for Gold Pack begins. This special handling doesn’t apply to Plan 2 (Nebula Professional Pack Only).

✔️ Payment, Termination & Reactivation

12. When will I be billed?

Invoices are issued around the 1st or 2nd of each month for the prior month’s usage across all your PAYG Orgs.

13. How do I cancel PAYG?

Disable PAYG in your Circle settings. A final usage invoice is generated. If paid, PAYG ends immediately. If not, you have 24 hours to update payment details before the system disables the contract.

14. What happens if my payment fails?

If your payment doesn’t go through, your PAYG status becomes "Overdue." You’ll have a 15-day grace period where Zyxel continues your PAYG services and retries billing. If payment is still unsuccessful after 15 days, your PAYG contract is terminated, the Org is downgraded to BASE Org, and PAYG-related services will be disabled.

15. How do I reactivate PAYG after a failed payment?

You must settle the full outstanding balance, including usage during the grace period, before reactivating.

✔️ Permissions & Portal Limitations

16. Who can enable or disable PAYG?

Only the Organization Owner. Delegated Admins can view PAYG settings but can’t modify them.

17. Can I transfer or delete an Org on PAYG?

No. You must deactivate PAYG before transferring or deleting an Org.

18. Can I renew or redeem licenses while on PAYG via the Circle, NCC portal?

  • Plan 1 (Nebula Pro Pack + Gold Security Pack): License renewal or redemption for Nebula Pro and Gold Packs is disabled since PAYG already provides these services automatically.
  • Plan 2 (Nebula Pro Pack Only): Only firewall devices support security license renewal.
