WiFi disconnection issues

Hello,

I recently installed a Zyxel NWA50AX access point in my home/office environment and configured it through the Nebula cloud portal. The initial setup process went smoothly, and the network appeared stable at first.

However, I'm now experiencing intermittent WiFi disconnection issues, particularly on mobile devices (both Android and iOS). These disconnects happen randomly throughout the day, sometimes even when the signal strength appears strong.

Best Regard,

Garima

    Hi @garima763reep

Please help to process the following first:

    • First, download and upgrade your NWA50AX to the latest firmware, V7.10(ABYW.3)C0, released in July 2025. Firmware upgrades often resolve bugs and improve performance. You can find this on the Zyxel community release notes.
    • Next, optimize your radio and SSID settings in the Nebula cloud portal:
      • **Radio Settings (Configure > Access points > Radio settings):**
        • * Enable Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS) and consider disabling "Avoid 5G DFS channel."
        • * Reduce channel width: Try 40MHz or 20MHz for 5GHz, and 20MHz for 2.4GHz if multiple 2.4GHz APs are present.
        • * Adjust 2.4GHz power to be at least 5dBm lower than 5GHz.
        • * Increase WLAN rate control to 5.5Mbps for 2.4GHz and 12Mbps for 5GHz.
      • **SSID Settings (Configure > Access points > SSID settings):**
        • * Create a separate SSID exclusively for 5GHz to accommodate capable devices.
        • * Enable Smart Steering to manage client connections, especially for idle devices or those with low signals. If issues persist, try disabling Smart Steering.
        • * Enable 802.11k/v/r for improved client roaming under `SSID advanced settings`, but consider disabling it for older IoT devices.
      • **Other Considerations:**
        • * Optimize AP placement to avoid obstructions and interference. Aim for a client signal strength of at least -70dBm.
        • * Limit connected wireless clients to 15-20 per AP for optimal stability.

If the issue persists, please collect the device diagnostic and the issue event logs and share with us.
