Background – Previous Workflow

One of the biggest complaints from administrators was the confusing workflow when editing certain configuration pages.

For example:

  • On VPN Phase 2 profiles, after defining Local and Remote policies, users had to:
    1. Click the check/save button for the row.
    2. Then click Apply for the entire profile.
  • If they forgot step 1 and only clicked Apply, their policy changes were never saved to the firewall.
  • This caused repeated misconfigurations and unnecessary troubleshooting.

What Changes in uOS 1.35

To improve the user experience, the save/apply process has been streamlined:

  • VPN Phase 2:
    • You now only need to click Apply.
    • The system automatically commits the row entries.
    • No more lost policies if you skip the save button.
  • Previously, these required:
    • DoS Prevention
    • Content Filter
    • App Patrol
    • Captive Portal
  • Now in uOS 1.35 :
    • Clicking the check/save button for each row and then Apply.
    • Clicking the check/save button is enough — no extra Apply step required.

Benefits:

Simpler workflow – fewer clicks, fewer mistakes.

Reduced errors – avoids situations where admins think policies are applied but

they’re not.

More intuitive design – consistent with modern GUI expectations.

Key Takeaway:

uOS 1.35 removes unnecessary steps across multiple configuration pages, making the firewall GUI faster, cleaner, and less error-prone.
