[Troubleshooting] PDs Not Powering Up or Unstable Connection with PoE Switch

If your powered device (e.g., an IP camera) fails to power on or frequently disconnects when connected to a Zyxel PoE switch, please follow this troubleshooting checklist:

1. Port Cross-Testing

  • Swap the port to other PoE ports for cross testing.

2. Check Cable Material

  • Ensure you are using CAT5e or CAT6 copper cables.

3. Firmware Update

  • Make sure your Zyxel switch and powered devices (PDs) are updated to the latest firmware.

4. PoE settings (only support on PoE switch models)

  • Verify your Power-Up mode configuration. This setting determines which power mode is provided to the PD. Please note that power-up modes may vary depending on the switch model.
