As of December 2025, Zyxel APs do not support manually customizing the subnet used by NAT Mode SSIDs.
In NAT mode, the AP automatically assigns an internal subnet from predefined private IP ranges. The AP selects the NAT subnet automatically according to the management VLAN subnet it is operating in.
Default NAT Subnet Behavior
The AP chooses a subnet from the following ranges:
- 10.0.0.0/8
- 172.16.0.0/12
The AP evaluates its management VLAN IP range and automatically selects a non-overlapping subnet from the ranges above to ensure proper device isolation and avoid conflicts.
