When establishing long-range Point-to-Point (P2P) wireless links, such as achieving approximately 300 Mbps over a distance of 1 kilometer or more, specific equipment and considerations are necessary to ensure stable and high-performance connectivity.

  1. Select an Appropriate Antenna: For long-range, directional deployments (1 km or more), a high-gain directional antenna (at least 14 dBi) is recommended to focus the wireless beam and improve signal strength. Omnidirectional antennas are not suitable for these scenarios.
  2. Choose a Compatible Outdoor AP: Use outdoor Access Point (AP) models that support external antenna connections via N-type connectors. The WAX655E is an IP67-rated model suitable for long-distance outdoor deployment and supports wireless bridge capabilities.
  3. Ensure Critical Technical Considerations are Met:
    • Maintain a clear line-of-sight between the two points to minimize interference.
    • Professional installation is strongly recommended for proper antenna alignment, accurate link budget calculations, and verification of regulatory compliance for transmission power in your region.
