EX5401 / WX3401 interoperability

Can anyone confirm if the above confirmation should achieve what I need?

I have an EX5401 and am looking to possibly acquire a WX3401. I would like to use the EX3401 effectively as a bridge device in addition to a mesh client - ie connect the two together either using MPro, or the 3401 just as a legacy STA, and use the two gig ports to connect to wired devices and hopefully clear near-gig speed on these (should connect at the speed of the weaker of the two radios, ie AX5400).

Is this viable? It should be from what I've read but I'm unsure.

It should be ok. To achieve speeds close to 1Gbps, you must ensure that the 5GHz channel width is set to 160MHz. However, please keep in mind that actual performance is highly dependent on the environment and can be affected by various environmental factors.
