- it is not booting (no IP assigned)
- led is green
- uplink leds are keeping lighting (orange and green)
- reset button is not working (device is not restarting)
- doesnt matter if power is over USBC or POE via POE++ switch device.

Hi @root,
We understand you're experiencing issues with your WBE660S not booting and not acquiring an IP address, despite a green LED and uplink LEDs being lit.
Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot:
Verify Power Supply: The WBE660S requires 45W for optimal performance. While it shows around 6W consumption, this is significantly lower than the required power.
- If using USB Type-C, ensure the power adapter provides at least 15V/3A (45W). The device prioritizes USB-C power if both USB-C and PoE are connected.
- If using PoE, ensure your switch or injector supports 802.3bt (PoE++) for full functionality. 802.3at (PoE+) provides partial functionality, and 802.3af (PoE) only powers the CPU with no antenna functionality. The displayed 6W consumption suggests insufficient power, possibly due to a non-PoE++ port or an inadequate USB-C adapter.
Check LED Status:
- A solid green LED on the WBE660S typically indicates full power mode with wireless clients connected. However, given the other symptoms, this might indicate it's stuck in a pre-boot state or a low-power mode where only the CPU is operational.
- Uplink LEDs (orange and green) lighting up can indicate network link activity, with green usually signifying a 2.5Gbps link and orange indicating 10/100/1000Mbps. If these are constant, it suggests a physical link, but not necessarily data flow or successful booting.
Attempt Factory Reset:
- The reset button should restart the device. If it's not working, the device might not be booting far enough to register button presses or could be experiencing a deeper hardware issue.
- To perform a factory reset, ensure the AP is powered on. Locate the reset button (often recessed, requiring a paperclip or slender pin). Press and hold the RESET button for more than 5 seconds until the power LED starts blinking.
Isolate and Connect Directly:
- Disconnect the WBE660S from your network and connect it directly to a computer via Ethernet.
- Manually configure your computer's Ethernet adapter with a static IP address in the 192.168.1.x range (e.g., 192.168.1.10) and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The default IP for Zyxel APs can be 192.168.1.1. Try to ping the AP at its default IP and then access the web interface.

Hi @root,
Welcome to the Zyxel Community!
To help us investigate further, please re-power the WBE660S, then confirm the status of:
- System LED – is it solid green?
- Uplink / Ethernet port LED – is it solidly orange and green?
This will help us to provide the more suitable next troubleshooting steps.
