Overcoming Outdoor 6GHz Restrictions

The WBE 665S is an outdoor tri-radio access point. However, strict regulations in many regions (like the EU) prohibit 6GHz usage outdoors without specific coordination (AFC).

The Indoor Mode Solution

For users who wish to use this powerful outdoor AP in large indoor spaces like warehouses or factories, Zyxel has introduced an Indoor Mode. Switching to Indoor Mode enables the 6GHz radio.

Configuration

• CLI Command: Currently, this must be enabled via CLI using: configure terminal then deployment indoor. for standalone AP. 

• NCC: This is currently not available for NCC-managed APs until Nebula 20.0.  A GUI option will be added to change indoor/outdoor in the next release.
