NWA50BE Spotify connect
hi I’ve recently upgraded my home network with 3 NWA50BE AP’s, two are wired to a 2.5gb switch connected to my route and one is using smart mesh.
I’m having issues with Spotify connecting to my speakers, I have Bose and a Sonos both are problematic, they operate fine if I use the speaker to hit a radio station but if I try and use a device on the network to connect via Spotify and play music some times it connects, sometimes it can see the speakers, some times the music buffers to I get artefacts like clicks.
Is there any setting I can use to improve the situation? They used to work fine on my very dated old BT whole home 1200ac WiFi?

To help us better understand the situation, could you please confirm the following?
- Are your speakers and the Spotify device connected to the same VLAN? Please share details about your network topology if possible—especially the VLAN configuration—so we can investigate further.
- What switch model are you currently using? Does it support IGMP Snooping? If so, you might need to configure it since it can help to prevent multicast flooding and other issues.
This information will help us troubleshoot the issue more effectively.

Regarding your question about mDNS, Zyxel APs do not block mDNS traffic by default.
To better understand your setup and help narrow down the issue, could you please provide the following information?
- VLAN configuration (if applicable): Are your speakers and the device running Spotify connected to the same VLAN?
- Uplink device: What is the model of your uplink switch/router? Does it support IGMP Snooping?
- Mesh vs. wired AP behavior: Does the issue only occur when the Mesh AP is involved, or does it also happen when only the wired APs are used?
- If possible, please perform cross-testing to help narrow it down, for example:
- Test 1: Connect both the speaker and the phone to the same AP.
- Test 2: Temporarily disable the Mesh AP and test Spotify connection using only the wired APs.

- Connection method: How are the Spotify device and speakers connected to each other? Are they using WiFi or Bluetooth between them? If using WiFi, which band are the speakers connected to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
- Please enable Zyxel Support Access and share your Organization and Site name with us. This will allow us to check client connections.
- Please also share the model of your speakers.
