Hi,

since Update to Patch 4 on my WBE660S and NWA55AXE i see a lot of kernel panics.

Acces to admin is enabled, if you want to have a look.

Last time: 2026-05-10 01:44:31Zyxel-Indoor660SystemDevice is rebooted by kernel panic!

I can´t see any usefull entry in log before.

Thanks for any idea.

Christian

    Hi,

I think I have the same issue. Upgraded one of my NWA50AX to v7.10v4. I now get daily reboots. The log shows “2026-05-10 09:33:24 Device is rebooted by cold start!” with no other error messages.

    Diagnostic attached.

Maybe as an idea: I saw some entries "NTP Server was not reachable, Update failed"

So i switch "pool.ntp.org" to "de.pool.ntp.org". Since this ntp-updates runs every 6h successfull.

And no further kernel panics since 24h…keep my fingers crossed.

It's worth a try. I've done the same. If it still fails I will disable NTP updates for now.

    Hi @Chris888

Thanks for the privilege and timestamp.

We are checking on it. If this issue happens again, please also help to collect the diagnostic file with me.

Changing the NTP settings including disabling NTP did not help. I'm still getting random reboots.

    Hi @Andy77FL

We checked the diagnostic file and found there are all "Device is rebooted by cold start!".

Device rebooted by cold start means the power was cut. Please check the uplink PoE status or the power adapter for the power stability.

Additionally, kernel panic will come with "device rebooted by warm reset" log.

Thanks. I have swapped out the power supply for a spare. I will report back if the problem is solved or not.

Edit: New PSU solved the problem. Thanks.

Unfortunately NTP didn´t solve the problem. Today again a freeze….send you my diag data.

I have to powercycle the wbe660s to solve it.
