WiFi 7 Technical Advantages in WISP Scenarios
Zyxel Employee
WiFi 7 introduces several important technologies that improve performance for long-range WISP deployments by enhancing reliability, reducing latency, and optimizing wireless signals.
One of the key features is Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which allows the AP to maintain multiple wireless links at the same time. While MLO provides only small improvements in typical indoor environments, it becomes highly valuable for long-distance wireless connections because it helps maintain stable connectivity and provides a persistent backup link in challenging conditions.
Another important enhancement is Zyxel’s Dynamic Time-based Resource Management, which improves efficiency compared to traditional TDMA systems. Instead of relying on fixed time slots that may be wasted when a device has no traffic to send, the system dynamically moves to the next active group, reducing latency and improving throughput in point-to-multipoint networks.
In addition, Zyxel Smart Antenna technology continuously adjusts the antenna pattern for each packet to optimize signal delivery. This helps the AP better serve both nearby and distant Leaf APs, improving wireless performance and coverage across the entire deployment area.
