If you are experiencing connectivity issues between your printer and a FWA505 router, follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Separate the SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz Bands:
- Epson printers often only support the 2.4GHz band. Access the Zyxel FWA505's web GUI and configure a dedicated SSID for the 2.4GHz network.
- For details on separating the SSIDs, refer to this guide: How to configure a separate 2.4GHz/5GHz network on a routers.
- Set the 2.4GHz Channel Bandwidth and Frequency:
- Adjust the channel bandwidth of 2.4GHz to 20MHz.
- Select Channel 1, 6, or 11 for the 2.4GHz frequency to avoid automatic negotiation issues.
- Adjust Security Protocol:
- Set the security protocol of the 2.4GHz network to WPA/WPA2-PSK (AES). Avoid WPA3 and WPA3-Transition modes, as many printers are not compatible with these protocols.
- For testing, create a separate SSID with "No Security" to check if the issue is due to security protocol compatibility.
- Clear Existing Network Profiles on the Printer:
- On your printer, access the network settings and delete all previously saved Wi-Fi profiles before attempting to reconnect.
