A "Configuration status: Not up to date" message typically indicates that your device's settings in Nebula Control Center (NCC) are not synchronized with the device itself, or that a firmware upgrade is needed for certain features to function correctly.

Here are some common causes:

-Outdated Firmware If your device's firmware is not the latest version, the configuration status will indicate "not up to date".

This is particularly true if new features require a firmware upgrade to function correctly. Zyxel's Nebula Control Center (NCC) will often display a tooltip explaining that an upgrade is needed to enable new features.

-Synchronization Issues with Nebula The configuration status can show "Not up to date" due to inconsistent data from Nebula.

This can happen if the device is unable to properly synchronize its configuration with the Nebula cloud center.

To resolve this, it is generally recommended to update your device to the latest firmware version.

The NCC interface provides clearer messages and indicators to guide you through this process, showing "Up to Date (Stable)" if you are on the latest stable release or "Not up to date – requires upgrade to latest firmware" with a clear reason.
