XMG2230: Ports going up and down many times
Hallo,
i have problems on my new network with the XMG2230 switches that some older HP Dockingstations seems to have problems with network connection.
From time to time the network port goes up and down many times.
Do you have any idea what could happen here?
My Dell Computers and other devices on the same switch does not show this behaviour.
Does someone else have this problems?

could be a bad cable?
here are cables I use with shielding
The other reason could be a bad port on the switch or device so test port 20 to another known working device and cable

There is a time gap between each link down and link up. Perhaps, port 20 is connecting to a PC or printer and went into dormant or power saving mode with 100M link speed and then woke up with 1G link speed.

Hallo,
i have the same problems on some different machines which are all HP.
I have approx. 20 machines on the same switch, all with the same patchcable and only the hp makes stress.
I am not sure if it is based on the cable, also i have already changed the cable and the problem stays.
I have now fixed them to 1GB Portspeed on the swicht instead of Auto, maybe this solves the problem.0 -
Hi @Venta
Does the issue remain after change the link speed?
If yes, please help to collect:
- switch tech support
- PC's NIC card model name
- PC's NIC card driver version
- PC's OS version
With these inform, we can better investigate this issue.
