Delegate Pay As You Go Management with Confidence

Would you give every team member the master key just so they could open one door?

Probably not—and PAYG management should not require that either.

As organizations expand their Pay As You Go operations, more team members may need to support license management or day-to-day billing activities. Until now, however, PAYG management was limited primarily to the Organization Owner, even when an Org Delegated Admin was responsible for the organization’s daily operations. The new Org Delegated Admins support for PAYG introduces a more flexible way to share management responsibilities while keeping billing ownership clear and controlled.

✔️ Delegate PAYG Management to the Right People

Org Delegated Admins can now enable PAYG for the organizations they are authorized to manage. This allows organizations and partners to involve the people already responsible for daily operations, without requiring every PAYG-related action to go through the Organization Owner. The user who enables PAYG becomes the organization’s designated Payer, establishing clear ownership of the billing relationship. In other words, the right person can manage the right organization—without creating confusion over who is responsible for payment.

✔️ Clear Management and Billing Responsibilities

Managing an organization and paying for its PAYG usage are related, but they are not always the same responsibility. The enhanced PAYG model separates these two concepts:

• Organization management determines who is authorized to manage the organization.
• Billing ownership determines who is responsible for PAYG charges.

Both Organization Owners and Org Delegated Admins can manage PAYG based on their permissions. However, only the designated Payer can disable PAYG for an active organization. This helps prevent accidental service changes and ensures that billing responsibility remains clearly assigned.

✔️ Easily Transfer Billing with Switch Payer

Responsibilities may change when organizations are reassigned, team structures evolve, or different administrators take over customer accounts. With the new Switch Payer feature, an authorized Organization Owner or Org Delegated Admin can take over PAYG billing responsibility for an organization. Once confirmed:

• The new administrator becomes the designated Payer.
• Future PAYG usage is billed to the new Payer.
• The previous Payer remains responsible only for usage incurred before the transfer date.
• The organization’s existing PAYG services and license configuration remain unchanged.

This makes it easier to transfer operational responsibility without interrupting customer services.

✔️ Built-In Protection for Billing Ownership

To prevent billing responsibility from being assigned to someone who may later lose access, PAYG includes additional eligibility protection. An active Payer must continue to hold either Organization Owner or Org Delegated Admin permissions. Org Delegated Admin accounts with an expiration time configured cannot become the PAYG Payer until that setting is removed. These safeguards help ensure that the person responsible for billing always retains the necessary authority to manage the organization.
