Does DX3301-T0 block multicast?
Freshman Member
I am trying to connect a My Energi Zappi and Eddi. They use multicast to communicate. They worked well with another router but my ISP has changed my plan and provided a new Zyxel DX3301-T0. The Eddi is connected to the Zyxel DX3301-T0 via wireless. The Zappi is connected to a Omada EAP225-Outdoor via wireless and the EAP225 is then connected to the DX3301 via Ethernet. They are not able to communicate in this configuration. If I connect the Eddi to the DX3301 via Ethernet, they can communicate. My guess is that either the router or the EAP or both are blocking multicast. How can I determine where the problem is?

I suspect there were some configurations on the old router that weren't present on the new one. You can contact your ISP for assistance.

I have had a lot of back and forth with my ISP, who have been very helpful, but without access to the actual devices, cannot do very much to assist, unfortunately. I cannot find any way to access multicast settings for my router although the manual does mention them. If there is some way to view a log of multicast activity, that might get me somewhere. Does anyone know how I can explore this in more detail?
