Why does controller-managed AP keep in Updating status and fail to upgrade to the latest firmware?
Zyxel Employee
If the AP is managed by a controller and its current firmware version is earlier than 7.10, the AP may not be able to upgrade directly to the latest firmware.
This is because newer AP firmware versions use an updated firmware encryption mechanism. APs running older firmware may not be compatible with the latest firmware package until they are first upgraded to firmware 7.10.
As a result, the AP may remain in Updating status, and the firmware upgrade may not complete successfully.
Solution:
Please upgrade the AP to firmware 7.10 first. After the AP has successfully upgraded to 7.10 and reconnected to the controller, then upgrade the AP to the latest available firmware.
