When a Zyxel device is successfully registered and connected to Nebula, its local login credentials are automatically overridden by Nebula's site-wide password.

This is why the default sticker password on the back of the device no longer works.

If both the site-wide password and the sticker password are failing via the Remote Configurator, please check the following:

1. Verify the Username

  • The username for logging in to the FWA505 (even when managed by Nebula) is always admin.(Firewall username is "support")

2. Verify and Copy the Correct Nebula Site-Wide Password

Make sure you are copying the exact password provisioned by Nebula:

  1. Log into your Nebula Control Center.
  2. Navigate to Site-wide > Configure > Site Settings.
  3. Scroll down to Device configuration > Local credentials.
  4. Click the eye icon next to Password to reveal the exact password. Note: Avoid copy-pasting extra spaces when entering this into the Remote Configurator login.

3. Check the Device Online Status in Nebula

For Nebula to push the site-wide password to your FWA505, the device must be online and fully synchronized with the Nebula Cloud.

  • If the device is currently showing as offline in the Nebula dashboard, it has not yet received the site-wide password from the cloud.
  • In this "offline" state, if it was previously configured locally, it may still be using the custom password you set during standalone setup or the default sticker pass
  • If the device is online in the Nebula dashboard, l it may take some time for the Nebula settings including password to synchronize with the device. Please wait for a while and then try logging in again using the username admin and the Nebula password.

4. Temporarily disconnect from the internet: Perform a hardware reset but keep the device disconnected from the internet. Then connect directly via LAN and log in with the default credentials (admin/1234) or the sticker password.

5. Completely remove from Nebula: Open Nebula Control Center, go to "Organization-wide → License & Inventory → Devices", find your device and remove it from the entire organization. After factory reset, it will use the default password or the sticker password.
