It is definitely challenging when an outdoor unit like the FWA710 is mounted on the roof and you lose access to both its local GUI and the internet. Since you cannot physically press the reset button, we need to focus on regaining local access using alternative troubleshooting steps.

Please try the following structured steps to recover access to your FWA710:

1. Perform a Remote Power Cycle (Soft Reboot)

Since you cannot reach the roof, you can reboot the unit from inside your property:

  • Locate the PoE injector (the power brick that sends power to the FWA710 via the Ethernet cable).
  • Unplug the power cord of the PoE injector from the wall outlet.
  • Wait 30 to 45 seconds to ensure all residual power drains.
  • Plug it back in. This will force-reboot the FWA710.

2. Connect Directly via Ethernet

Avoid trying to connect via Wi-Fi (the FWA710's built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is for initial setup and automatically turns off 30 minutes after boot-up for security).

  • Connect your computer directly to the LAN port of the PoE injector using an Ethernet cable.

3. Check your PC's IP Address (Handling IP Passthrough Mode)

If your FWA710 was recently registered or configured, it may have entered IP Passthrough mode. When this happens, the local GUI at 192.168.1.1 becomes hard to reach because the WAN IP is passed directly to your connected device.

  • Check what IP address your computer is receiving.
  • If your computer is getting a strange IP (like a WAN/Cellular IP or a 10.x.x.x address):
    • Try accessing the local GUI by typing the IP address your computer received + 1 (For example, if your computer's IP is 10.114.220.177, try entering http://10.114.220.178 in your browser).
  • If your computer is not getting an IP address at all (or a 169.254.x.x autoconfiguration IP):
    • Manually configure your computer's Ethernet adapter with a Static IP address:
      • IP Address: 192.168.1.100
      • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
      • Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    • Once the static IP is set, open a web browser and try accessing: https://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.1.

4. Entering the Correct Password

If you manage to open the login page, please keep the following in mind regarding your password:

  • If the device successfully registered to Nebula before losing connection: Nebula automatically overrides the local admin password.
    • Your login username will still be admin.
    • The password will be your Nebula Site-Wide Password. You can find this by logging into your Nebula Cloud account (via a mobile phone on cellular data or another internet connection) and going to: Site-wide > Configure > Site Settings > Device configuration > Local credentials.
  • If the device never reached the Nebula cloud: Use the default unique password printed on the sticker of your

f these steps don't resolve the issue, you might consider contacting Zyxel support for further assistance.

To help us narrow down the issue, please share the following information with Zyxel Support:

  1. What IP address does your computer get when you plug it directly into the PoE injector's LAN port?
  2. Did the FWA710 show up as "Online" on your Nebula Control Center dashboard at any point before this happened?
  3. What color are the LEDs on your PoE injector (if any)?
