How to distribute a custom NTP server to many APs?

For mass deployment that user wants to assign dedicated NTP server for APs, the AP supports receiving NTP server IP from the DHCP server through DHCP Option 42(Network Time Protocol Servers). When the AP obtains its IP address by DHCP, it can also receive the NTP server address or addresses provided in Option 42.

Step 1 - Configure DHCP Option 42 on your DHCP server.

Step 2 - Renew the AP DHCP lease or reconnect the AP so it receives the DHCP information.

Router> renew dhcp lan

The AP will save it in the local and use it if first priority locally configured user-defined NTP server failed or not configured.
