Hi guys,

when trying to set up an WiFi access point NWA50AX I discovered that the device already was connected to Nebula. So I followed tips in this community, basically I registered my own Nebula account and added the device. I got the message that the current association for the device would be replaced with my own. Thereafter the device booted up and the WiFi worked.

And now to the tricky part. As I do not need Nebula I want to remove everything about it and manage the device locally. So I followed the guide in the below link, the result was not as expected because after "Removing from organisation", the AP rebooted but started looking for Nebula but failed (green slow blink). As I understand this procedure should have reverted the device back to factory setting, but it still was looking for Nebula.

I have also tested the ZON utility to disable Disable Nebula Discovery, but that fails due wrong Device Administrator Password. So where is this password? Is it the same password as logging in to Nebula? Or the WiFi password?

We'll I'm pretty lost. This Nebula "thing" raises many security concerns.

TIA

    Hi @My_UserName123 ,

Thank you for providing detailed information and sharing the steps you've already tried.

Please try logging in to the local Web GUI at https://{IP address} using the following credentials:

    Username: admin

Password: 1234 or the default password printed on the device label

After logging in, select "Standalone" mode, then change the password and SSID settings.

Besides the device continuously searching for the Nebula Cloud because Standalone mode is not selected, the LED indicator will also slowly blink green if the device is in a security warning state (e.g., the default password 1234 has not been changed, the SSID remains at factory default, or the radio function is inactive). Therefore, please ensure that both the admin password and SSID have been updated, and the radio is enabled.

If the LED is still slowly blinking green after completing the settings and waiting for 5 minutes, please go to ZON, click on [NCC/AC], and verify whether [Disable NCC Discovery] is checked.

Device dministrator password: Same as the Web GUI password above.

    Note:

If your device is not connected to Nebula (shown as 'Offline' in Nebula) when performing Removing from organization, the device may fail to recognize that it has been unregistered and should revert to factory default settings. In this case, the login password will not revert to factory default settings. If this happens, we recommend using a pin to press and hold the device's [Reset] button for at least 10 seconds to fully reset the device back to its default state.
