A red Internet (globe/world icon) LED on your Zyxel FWA505 indicates that while the device is powered on and may have a cellular signal, it is unable to establish an internet data connection.

To troubleshoot and resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

1. Check your SIM Card Status & LED behavior

Observe the other LEDs on your FWA505:

• If the Cellular Signal LED is blinking blue, this indicates that the router cannot detect the SIM card or the SIM card is invalid (e.g., PIN-locked, wrong orientation, or damaged).
• Action: Power off the device, remove the SIM card, ensure it is clean and properly aligned, and re-insert it firmly. Power the router back on and wait up to 5 minutes to see if it initializes.

2. Verify and Configure APN Settings (Most Common Cause)

If your SIM card is detected but the Internet LED remains red, the router likely needs manual Access Point Name (APN) settings to connect to your carrier's network.

1. Connect a computer or phone to the FWA505's Wi-Fi or LAN port.
2. Open a web browser and go to the local management page (default IP is usually 192.168.1.1).
3. Log in using the admin credentials printed on the device label.
4. Go to Network Setting > Broadband > Cellular APN.
5. Disable "Auto" and manually enter the APN, username, and password required by your mobile carrier. Save the settings.

3. Confirm Cellular Band & Preferred Network Settings

If the APN is correct but it still fails to connect:

1. In the Web GUI, go to Network Setting > Broadband > Cellular Band.
2. Ensure the Preferred Access Technology is set to include both 5G and 4G (e.g., NR5G-SA/NR5G-NSA/4G auto-switch).
3. Ensure Band Auto Selection is enabled.
