Device Offline Alert Behavior During NCC Update
Nebula Control Center (NCC) undergoes scheduled maintenance and updates to ensure system stability and introduce new features. During these upgrade windows, administrator monitoring remains a critical priority for unexpected site events.
Device Offline Alerts During NCC Maintenance
If an Access Point (AP) or switch goes down due to an unexpected event—such as a hardware failure or sudden power loss—while the NCC upgrade is in progress, the system will still process the offline status:
Alert Generation: Offline alert emails will still be triggered and sent based on your configured alert settings.
Expected Delivery Delay
Although alert notifications continue to function during the NCC upgrade period, please be aware that there may be a delay of a few minutes before the email is delivered to your inbox.
Standard Upgrade Behavior vs Unexpected Outages
During a planned device firmware upgrade, APs and switches will reboot and temporarily go offline. Since this is an expected process, a standard offline alert will not be generated. However, if a device encounters a hardware issue and remains offline beyond your specified threshold (for example, more than 5 minutes), the NCC will detect the unexpected offline status and send the notification.
