Nebula License Tier Transition Guidelines
When transitioning an organization between Nebula license packs, administrators must understand how license expirations affect the organization’s overall service tier. License tier adjustments do not occur automatically based on individual device licenses.
Understanding License Expiration
When an organization's higher-tier license (such as Pro Pack) expires and a lower-tier license (such as Plus Pack) is scheduled for the next period, the system will display a warning message. Transitioning to the new tier requires administrative action:
No Automatic Downgrades: The organization will not automatically shift from Pro Pack to Plus Pack upon the current license expiration date.
Manual License Tier Selection
Even if devices within the network are already assigned and registered with the new license type, the primary administrator must manually apply the configuration change:
Required Action: Once the current Pro Pack expires, administrators must navigate to the Organization Overview page to manually select and confirm the Plus Pack tier.
License Assignment and Tiering Logic
Having mixed licenses or newly assigned licenses on individual devices (such as switches or APs) will not trigger an automatic shift. The organization's operational tier remains anchored to the active organizational status until it is manually adjusted in the Nebula Control Center dashboard.
