Wifi Extender for outdoor use

Want a WiFi extender (2.4 and 5 ghz) for outdoors to connect to a Flex 700 wifi controlled network.

Would the NWA55AXE in standalone mode, connect to WAX630s AP, that controlled by the Flex 700 be a possible solution?

Hi @jef

Since NWA55AXE can't be controlled by USG FLEX 700, you might need to setup the mesh setting on NWA55AXE manually.

Yes you that should be possible I have a similar setup with USG60W as controller to a WAX510D then standalone NWA50AX PRO

Thanks, I believe I will purchase the NWA55AXE and give it a try.

Quick follow up question: In the "AP group" in the "profile" on each radio in that profile, I need to change from "AP Mode" to "Root AP" and that should not effect my existing wifi setup?

AP Mode v Root AP anything important about that change I should be aware of?

Hi @jef

No, it won't effect the existing wifi. Change mode allows your root AP to broadcast the mesh SSID out. In AP mode, the AP won't broadcast the mesh SSID.
