Hi,

yesterday I did the firmware update V4.55(ABFW.0). Since I get a [Timeout] tag on most emails.
What does that mean and what can I do.

    Hi @Michael_I,

Email security function will caches all of URLs in the mail content, and send to server for check URL security. After received result from server, then device will forward/drop the mail. If device unable to get response before timeout, then will forward/drop the mail and tag “timeout” in subject.

    Hello,

Should I change the timeout value to a higher amount? Before the update everythin went fine, therefore it´s an Issue with the firmware-update.

You can change timeout value to 10 to reduce Timeout tag.
As for timeout tag, currently, McAfee is our partner in this feature.
We will keep enhancing the mechanism to improve the querying efficiency in the upcoming release.
The schedule would be in Q4/2020.

    Hi

I already reported this in early June here in this forum just after updating firmware to V4.55.
    (I'm using an ATP100.)

I also contacted Zyxel support but they told me that this is not a general problem.
I reverted back to firmware V4.50 and since then I've never seen a timeout again.

Currently I do not have time to try firmware V4.55 again.
Maybe I will wait for the next firmware release...

    Hi @Michael_I,
Downgrade of firmware is not advisable. We would suggest to adjust the time value to 10 seconds first.

I tried the value of 10, but I still have timeout messages.

    I currently don't remember.
I think I just downloaded and installed V4.50 over V4.55 but I'm not really sure currently.
It could also be possible that I've done a factory reset.

However, V4.50 works without problems, and since Zyxel has said they are working on this problem, I will not try V4.55 again. Instead, I will wait for the next firmware version.
