USG 20W upgrade old firmware

I have a Zyxel USG 20W with firmware 3.30(BDR.7) and would like to upgrade it to the latest version. I can only find firmware for the model USG 20W-VPN firmware version 4.35(ABAR.0).

I attempted the upgrade to the device but received and error saying the firmware was incompatible. I am not sure if this is because my device is a different model (note that -VPN is missing in the model number on my device) or because the jump from 3.30 to 4.35 is to big. Or both. I may also be a separate issue altogether.

Any guidance on next best steps would be appreciated.

    ZyWALL USG 20W doesn’t support firmware 4.35.


    Here are firmware 4.35 supported models.

    ATP100/ATP200/ATP500/ATP800

    Latest USG20W firmware should be BDR.9.

    Good morning, sorry if I intrude.
I can't backup my zyxel atp800, I can't find it on my atp800.
how can I make a full backup of my firewall?

    Welcome to Zyxel Community

    The startup-config.conf file is the configuration file that the Zyxel Device is currently using.

    Go to Maintenance > File Manager > Configuration File to copy the startup-config.conf file.

    You can refer to the user guide to backup the configuration file.

    The information is on page 809 Chapter 40 File Manager Table 352
