How to setup the nxc2500 with Internet and a managed switch
My question is how do i connect my internet connection to a managed switch and to the nxc2500 controller. I want the ability to have multiple VLans that could be hardwired or wireless through the nxc2500 controller/AP's. I was thinking the managed switch could be the DHCP server and serve the controller/AP's and the users. How do i go about setting this up? Do i setup all the vlan information in the managed switch and some how past that along to the controller?
Hoping someone can help me out, thanks.

Hi @Reebs,
Here is the simple scenario as I summarize from your description. Please correct me if I am wrong.
The default IP address of NXC is 192.168.1.1 with no VLAN tag.
Here is the configuration that you need to finish on the NXC.
1. Go to CONFIGURATION>Network>Interface>VLAN, and add 4 VLAN interfaces on the NXC.
Here is the example of VLAN10. Please create the VLAN interfaces with the correct configuration that you need.
2. Go to CONFIGURATION>Object>AP Profile>SSID, and add 4 SSIDs.
Here is the example of SSID office. Please create the SSID profiles with the correct configuration that you need. You can also add the security profile as needed.
3. Go to CONFIGURATION>Wireless>AP Management>AP Group, and edit the "default" group to add the 4 SSIDs into to Radio 1 and Radio 2.
Here is the example for Radio 1. Please scroll down and finish the Radio 2, and also setup the configuration that you need.
Configure the DHCP server/VLAN interface with VLAN10, VLAN20, VLAN30 and VLAN40 on the switch.
It should work after finish these settings.
Hope it helps.

Hi @Reebs
If you connect the AP to the NXC directly, you have to add the ge port into the VLAN interface. As my example, I assumed the AP is connected to the NXC ge2, so I added the ge2 to the VLAN interface. If there is another AP will be connected to the NXC ge3, just add the ge3 into the VLAN interface. Image the NXC port is like a switch.
According to your question, yes, we have to assign a static IP address for each VLAN interface, and the VLAN interfaces IP address must be different. So the VLAN20 could be 192.168.20.xx. That is correct.

Hi @Reebs
Here is our handbook link which introduces how to set WiFI Multiple SSID. You could refer to the chapter 2.2 with page 29.
https://download.zyxel.com/NXC2500/handbook/NXC2500_NXC%20Controller%20Series%20Handbook%20Version%204.pdf
Welcome to refer for this document.

thanks, in the example do i attach the AP's to the controller or the switch? I have seen examples of both in the handbook.
also in the first part of your response it shows assigning a static ip to vlan10 192.168.10.33, is that required? if so then do i need to create a static ip for each vlan? so vlan20 would have static ip address like 192.168.20.XX?0 -
