Hi all,

I’m trying to use SNMP on a VMG8823 to monitor some values from the “xDSL Statistics” page, is that possible?

I couldn’t find any information at all regarding SNMP on this device (ch. 34 on the manual is almost useless).

I think I have figured out the following OIDs,

Uptime: (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0)

Bytes Received: (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.28)

Bytes Sent: (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.28)

But is there anything else related to xDSL Statistics?

It seems you can get some stats using this OID: iso.3.6.1.4.1.890

    Hi NeAI,

What's the firmware version in your VMG8823?
I think it doesn't have an OID for xDSL page. We can follow the SNMP protocol to get the WAN side information via the standard defined parameters.

    Hi AAAAL,
    firmware version is V5.13(ABIU.0)b5.

I think I'll have to get the values via telnet/ssh.

Edit: I could try upgrading to 5.13(ABEJ.4)C0 first.

    Hi NeAI,

V5.13(ABIU.0)b5 is the customized firmware from your internet service provider.
The generic firmware version 5.13(ABEJ.4)C0 may not be suitable for you.
You need to connect to your VMG8823 provider for the new firmware upgrade.
    Thank you.

I know, my ISP never released any upgrade at all, and probably won't anymore.

Actually, I got better luck compiling the new firmware from sources ;)
