Just received the Zyxel VMG3925-B10B.

If I name the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wireless networks the same thing, with the same password, will the router intelligently align the device to the best band (usually 5G if close) or will it just connect to the first one and leave it?
My old router had option to automatically use the best band...

Thanks

    Hi jdoc_18,

Your devices(e.g. smartphone, pc..) will decide which wireless bandwidth should be connected by itself.

We cannot control the behavior from your client devices.

Thanks for the reply - however I don't think this is entirely accurate.
The device will connect to whichever band it finds first (2.4 or 5).  My previous router had a setting which could determine the best band.  It broadcast only one SSID but if a device capable of 5GHz connected it'd put it on that band for best transfer speeds to free up availability on the 2.4GHz for devices without the capability of using both.  If a device then slipped out of 5GHz range, it would revert it to 24GHz.
I have named the 2.4 and 5GHz SSID's the same on my new router but wondered if it would o any intelligent switching.
    It sounds like not.
