How can I create a Share on an external Drive?

I used to have several shares on an external 2tb usb3 Drive. I Had to replace the Drive. Now I can format the New external Drive, but I cannot create any shares. Wenn adding a Share it only lets me choose from the 4 internal Drives. Any Idea? Please Help!
