The C1100z offers 802.11n wifi, which uses only the 2.4 Ghz bandfor sending / receiving data. It supports two streams of 150 Mbpsfor a (theoretical) data rate of up to 300 Mbps. The C3000z offers 802.11ac, which has both the slower 2.4 Ghz bandfor compatibility with older devices, as well as the faster 5.0 Ghz bandfor sending / receiving data to newer 802.11ac devices. If you have other 802.11ac devices on your network, you'll get much better performance on those devicesif you utilize the C3000z, as it can reach a (theoretical)maximum speed of 1.7 Gbps. That's over 5 times the speed that the C1100z offers. However, that speed increase only applies to devicesthat have 802.11ac capabilities.Check your manufacturer's website to verify.0
