Hi, I am using a ZYXEL PoE Switch, model GS1900-10HP, to test the power draw at a powered speaker. This switch does not support MIB for PoE information, so is there an alternative way of monitoring and accessing the consuming power data?

    Yes.

Log into the web interface of your GS1900 switch.

On the menu of the left, click on CONFIGURATION
    Then click on PORT
    Then click on POE

This will take you to the POE Global View page.

Make sure that "Consumption" is selected, and then,
up and to the right, click on the word "Port".

You will then be able to see how many milli-watts
    each port is consuming.

  • Thank you for your answer. However, my main issue is that I need to monitor the power consumption and have a signal/trap on the switch in case it gets below a certain threshold. I know that the switch does not support MIB/SNMP, so I am looking for an alternative way , maybe a script?

    Hi @Anastasia ,

    Welcome to Zyxel community!

We recommend you Zyxel NebulaFlex Switch GS1920-8HPv2.
It is a model that supports Nebula CC, and Nebula CC has elaborate chart of Power consumption and history.
    In Switch summary report:

    For every port detail:

There is also an advantage to use Nebula CC that you can monitor your Switch from anywhere you have Internet, not just limit to a private network.  ;)
