    i have the same problem. I tried to upgrade my GS1900-8HP to newest firmware 2.7 - after this i got the error message "POE init failed"
    Please contact me and i can provice the tech files - thanks

    BTW: No problem by upgrading my GS1900-10HP

    Hi, my problems are bigger as i thought.
    I tried to use any other PORT or use another POE device - but since upgrading to 2.7 no one of my POE device is working.
    Whats happend ?

    Are you using V2.70 patch 3 firmware to upgrade your GS1900-8HP and then getting the "POE init failed" message?
    Hi Melen, yes of course. Downloaded the latest version from zyxel download center - named"GS1900-8HP_2.70(AAHI.3)C0"
    - Upgrade process running pretty well
    - after reboot "Error Message - POE INIT Failed"
    => Downgrade is possible but the problem still there:
    - no error message unter 2.6 BUT
    - no one POE Device will work - it looks like the POE Init "died" ?

    Dear my Zyxel GS1900-10HP broke down the POE ports are no longer working.
    It gives the message "POE INIT FAIL".
    As it is out of warrenty I have opened it and found that a diode was broken on the PCB in the 3.3v switching power supply part that provides power to the Broadcom POE chip.
    As a consequence of this TP14 doesn't measure 3.3v
    I replaced the diode (B1100 SMD diode) and now my beloved switch is working 100% with POE.

    For anyone out of warrenty and doesn't want to put this otherwise good switch in the trash I hope I could help.
