MG-105 upload speed limited with Livebox 6 (Orange)

Hi,
Why the upload speed is limited to 250 Mb/s with a Livebox 6 ?
The Download speed is ok with 2000 Mb/s but not the upload, it should be at 800 Mb/s.
The upload speed of 800 Mb/s is OK without MG-105 (direct cable).
Many users of Livebox 6 havent the same issue !!!
Thank You

    Hi @JeanLuc,

May I know what method did you used to test the speed?
What is the LED color on the uplink and downlink ports?
And was there any other device also connect to MG-105 when you test speed?

    Hi @JeanLuc,

    Thanks for your information.
Since I don't have livebox 6 orange in my office, I use other router to test the upload speed.
Here is the test result when I bypass MG-105:

Here is the test result I connect the PC to MG-105:

We can see the upload speed when the PC connect to MG-108 is closed to the result when I bypass MG-105.

Could you use other router to test the upload speed?
In the meanwhile, we are still finding a livebox 6 to reproduce this issue.

    Hi @JeanLuc,

May I know is this your topology when you doing the test?
    From livebox (2.5Gbits port) -------> Zyxel MG-105 -------> PC
And the livebox WAN port is a fiber link which connect to ISP with at least 2.5G link speed?
I want to know the link speed of this port and the speed you can reach.

And is there any possible to have a remote to check the livebox?
I found there a user have same issue with you and his interface status of 2.5G port was half in duplex.
I would like to confirm the interface status and if the duplex is half, I will check if there can configure the speed-duplex.

By the way, may I know the serial number of your MG-105?
We want to collect more information to investigate this problem.

    Hi all,

I have the same issue as @JeanLuc .

I have a Livebox 6 with a 2.5Gb ethernet port from Orange, a Zyxel MG-105 switch and 3 PC Windows 10 also with a 2.5Gb port on each.

Using the Speedtest from Ookla, i made the following tests with different configurations :

    1) Box ---> PC  => 2000Mbps and beyond on download which is quite ok
=> 800Mpbs an beyond on upload (why this downspeed ? I'll investigate with Orange)

    2) Box ---> MG-105 ---> PC => 2000Mbps and beyond on download which is quite ok
=> 300Mps and below on upload

I must say that connecting one or more PCs to the Zyxel doesn't change anything to the values

I must say too that repeating this experience using an old 1Gb switch give me these measures : about 900Mpbs on download (which is quite normal again) and about 800Mpbs on upload

I hope these informations shall help you to help us...

    Thanks,

    Best regards,

    Hi Melen,

Thanks for this fast fast fast answer 😁

It's much appreciated to have this strong reactivity

Sure i want to help giving you the "interface status of 2.5G port of the LB6" but... how can i do that ? 😕

    Hi @jlucG,

To get the information, you need to login to livebox 6 local GUI, and go to LAN tab.
And you will find the information as below:

If you find the Duplex on 2.5G port is HALF, may you share the length of the cable you are using?
And is it possible to use a cable which is longer than 30 meter to connect MG-105 to livebox 6?

P.S. We are still looking for a livebox 6 to reproduce this issue.

    Hi Melen,

You will find below the requested information :

    Configuration is as follow :
box ethernet 1 connected to a router feeding my home IoT network
box ethernet wan connected to MG-105 with 0.5m cable cat 7
MG-105 connected to PC with 5m cable cat 7

Sorry but i don't have any cable greater than 10m... which is in the ceiling so i can't use it for experiment purpose

P.S1 : I don't understand why the "vitesse maximum" of ethernet 3 port is 2500 and Wan's is 1000. It should be the opposite since ethernet 1 to 4 are supposed to be 1Gb... ???!!!

P.S2 : I just contacted Orange to investigate and they are going to phone me this PM. I'll keep you up to date asap

    Hi @jlucG,

    Thanks for your information.

We received one of our customer's feedback that he said the if he connect his PC to MG-105 first,
then connect MG-105 to livebox 6, the upload speed become normal.

May you try this steps and help to screenshot the interface status again if your upload speed also become normal?

About you question 1, I'm wonder about it too.
Not sure why orange arrange the interfaces like this, maybe you can ask Orange's support engineer.
